Seaside Trips

They say that, wherever you are in the UK, the coast is never more than two or three hours' drive away. So it's not surprising that people in Britain make around 200 million day trips to the coast each year. Next time you're planning your own visit to the seaside, why not give us a call? We cover all coastal resorts throughout the UK.

For smaller parties, our VW people carrier is perfect for the trip and seats up to 8 passengers in real comfort.

There are certainly no end of places to discover. As the UK is made up of over a thousand islands, our coast is actually one and half times longer than the coast of Italy and over three times longer than the coastline of Spain! When it comes to variety, the UK has the lot: vibrant resorts, spectacular cliff tops, stunning beaches and everything from traditional amusements to quiet hidden coves.

Whether you want to return to a favourite resort or head off somewhere new, we're always happy to discuss your requirements. As well as day trips, we also offer next day returns and longer breaks.

Here are a few of the many coastal destinations we've taken our customers to over the years:

Blackpool – always a firm favourite! With its famous tower, a pleasure beach with some of the most thrilling rides around and everything you expect from a traditional seaside resort, there's no wonder we take more bookings for Blackpool than anywhere else.

East / North East Coast – from Great Yarmouth and Skegness right up to Berwick-on-Tweed, you'll find a fabulous range of resorts to choose from. What better way to watch the world go by than sitting on the harbour wall at Bridlington with fish 'n' chips, or enjoying an ice cream at Scarborough with the castle towering above you? Further up, at Whitby, the steep twisting lanes hold plenty of fascinating little gift shops, cafes and tea rooms … not to mention all those steps leading up to the glorious view from the Abbey. (Some parties cheat and ask us to drive them to the top!) If it's natural scenery you want, look no further than Northumberland, where the crowds are much fewer and there's plenty to discover. We've taken people to Alnwick Castle (Harry Potter land) and – when the tide's out! – across the causeway to Holy Island.

Scotland – Always a popular destination with PCL clients, Scotland has miles and miles of glorious rugged coastline, especially on the winding West Coast, where every bend brings another breathtaking view through the panoramic windows. Or why not try Fife, a lesser known gem over in the east, where we took the Elstone family from Wakefield for a five day tour?

Wales – The lively coastal resorts of North Wales are always a favourite with families and, if you're looking for stunning scenery, you can't get much better than the Gower peninsular or the Pembroke Coast National Park. We find that Wales has something to offer everyone, from quiet, hidden fishing villages to the bustling resorts. One family who were looking for something completely different booked us to take them to Portmeirion – we could see why!

Southern England – Needless to say, when it comes to coastal resorts, the south west coast, including Devon and Cornwall, is a real hot spot. We've also taken one or two parties to Bristol – a bustling port full of surprises. Right down on the south coast, visitors love the cosmopolitan flavour of Brighton and the comparative tranquility of the Isle of Wight.

Wherever you choose – whether it's for a day of paddling, pitch 'n' putt and a bag of chips, a long weekend of unspoilt coastline, or a few days exploring new resorts – just contact us to discuss your requirements.
