Theme Parks by PCL Minicoach
When it comes to all round family entertainment, you can't go wrong with a theme park. And if you travel by PCL Mercedes minicoach, your great day out begins as soon as you set off. Why worry about traffic, parking and keeping everyone entertained on the way? We can take care of all that for you. All you need to do is settle back in your seat and enjoy the ride.
We've been taking people to theme parks for many years now and they return to us again and again, knowing they can rely on a professional service that really makes a difference. Our 16 str minicoach has panoramic tinted windows and even has DVD facilities, so you can bring along a favourite movie to watch on the way. For smaller parties, we also have an 8-str VW minibus available.
Our top three destinations are all just a couple of hours or so from Leeds and are always extremely popular for a fun-packed day out. We also cover theme parks further afield, for those wanting to include an overnight stop and return next day or make a great weekend of it. So where are our customers' top three favourites?
It's no surprise that Alton Towers comes top of the list. This firm favourite has a fascinating history and marked its 30th birthday in 2010. Younger visitors love the many magical attractions in Cloud Cuckoo Land, such as Wobble World, or the excitement of Adventure Land, where they can climb aboard the Squirrel Nutty Ride, travelling through the tree tops in their very own acorn. There's even their own jolly green rollercoaster, The Beastie.
Meanwhile, over in the Alton Towers Waterpark, you'll find Those looking for an adrenalin-rush enter the Forbidden Valley, where The Blade subjects them to zero gravity, or Ripsaw dips them in and out of huge fountains as the water rises and falls. If they have nerves of steel, they head for the Dark Forest. Here, the menacing ride innocently called Rita catapults them from 0-100 kph in just 2.5 seconds!
Equally thrilling are the rides at Drayton Manor. Our customers return to the minicoach full of heart-stopping tales of the Apocalypse drop tower, considered the UK's scariest ride, and how their stomachs churned on Maelstrom, which swung to a height of over 20 metres and spun them round at the same time. Then there's Stormforce10, a reverse chute water coaster, which sends boats down a breathtaking 9 metre drop … backwards.
The little ones visiting Drayton Manor can't wait to get into Thomas Land, which has over a dozen rides related to Thomas the Tank Engine, including the Troublesome Trucks Coaster. This popular theme park also has 15 acres of open land zoo, including everything from big cats to meerkats, penguins to parrots. In autumn, Drayton Manor holds spectacular firework displays, with many rides open through until 9 pm, and the year rounds off with Magical Christmas events.
Last, but not least, is the firm favourite, Flamingoland. This popular theme park and zoo is even closer to Leeds than Alton Towers and Drayton Manor. Set in glorious North Yorkshire scenery, it has something for everyone, from family fun to X-treme Rides. Try Cliff Hanger, one of the tallest vertical drop rides in Europe. Or Mumbo Jumbo, a high speed trip, packed with twists and turns and two full inversions. And if you want even more exhilaration, those with nerves of steel can take corners at lightning speeds on Velocity. This superbike launch coaster shoots from 0-60 mph in under three seconds.
If you have youngsters in your party, Flamingoland offers some great simple fun, from the brightly coloured Balloon Race ride to the Junior Driving School and the whacky interactive water ride, Splash Battle. HMS Bouncy even has a waterfront café next door, great for recharging your batteries whilst watching your children having fun. Everyone enjoys a ride on the zoo monorail, suspended above the animal enclosures, where you can see meerkats, camels, emus and baboons.
With so many attractions on offer, it's easy to see why theme parks are so popular with our customers. Group trips are always a big hit and, by booking in advance through the theme parks' websites, many people have reserved entry tickets with up to 50% discount!
Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and Flamingoland all offer accommodation on site, so why not enjoy an overnight stay? Our minicoach has a spacious boot, complete with clothes rail, so there's plenty of room for your overnight bags, and we'll be there to take you home next day.
Some of our customers choose to stay a little longer. The Alton Towers Resort offers weekends based on Caribbean Beach Party or Pirate themes and, if swashbuckling's not your thing, then you can even enjoy a relaxing spa break. Flamingoland has luxury log cabins right on its doorstep, as well as camping facilities, and a new hotel is due to open at Drayton Manor in 2011.
Whatever your choice, whether it's an action-packed day trip or a next-day return, we're happy to discuss your requirements – simply contact us and start planning that perfect visit to a UK theme park.
